Description

Adjustable intake cam timing is one of the biggest advances the K-series platform offers. However to take advantage of it, the 2004-08 TSX owners needs an upgraded VTC and a programmable computer to electronically control it.

The stock TSX VTC is limited in movement range to about 20-25 degrees. However power can be made, especially in the low and midrange area, by moving the VTC as far as 45 degrees. This VTC gear will allow that movement, so that a programmable system such as the Hondata Flashpro will be able to use more cam timing range.

This VTC just comes out of another Honda engine, in this case a 2009 and newer TSX. This gear allows up to 50 degrees of movement. It has been shown that with this much range, a missed shift or other rev related issue can cause piston-valve contact. So we have these gears with an option to install a pin that limits the range to a safe 45 degrees for the 2004-08 engines.

This gear us for use in 2004-08 TSXs running an 09- TSX intake cam.
